Heartstopper is the beautiful, warm, uplifting love story LGBTQ kids deserve and LGBTQ adults needed when we were kids. There's something to relate to in all the characters, from simple silly things like Charlie saying things like "I don't just fall for any boy that's nice to me", to much deeper inner conflicts like when another character who is struggling to figure out and understand their sexuality by googling for answers.
Heartstopper is charming, sweet, and brought back emotions and hurts from a distant past I thought I had long buried. I found everything about it incredibly relatable. For me it was cathartic in the best way, and if this show helps even just one teenager with the struggle of coming to terms with their own identity, then it's worth every minute.
