A fabulous movie about the heroism of a group of people who rescued Jewish children at the outbreak of World War 2 and the struggle of a man with the loss of a train full of children that the Nazis stopped from leaving. Well worth watching to understand the struggle of the time. I can't imagine anyone not having a tear in their eye toward the end of the film.

A gripping war movie that provides perspective from all sides--U.S. soldiers, VietCong, wives, and media. Should be required viewing for all who think about putting anyone in harm's way. Shot showing the grim details of war. Not for the faint of heart or those who are squeamish at the sight of blood.

I've watched it many times and have always loved it. I became familiar with the man when I read Johnny Got His Gun in high school. He was a brilliant man and a true American hero.
