The movie shiddat is a love story. The actors Sunny Kaushal, Radhika Madan, Mohit Raina, and Diana Penty were such a breath of fresh air and did a fantastic job. Though Diana Penty had little screen presence, she portrayed the role exceedingly well. Radhika was pretty good too, but the emotional scenes could have been better. The songs are nice, and the cinematography is beautiful.
*Spoiler alert*
The movie did have its cringe moments and did seem illogical at times. I am glad that they didn't show him successfully swimming across the English channel when he learnt swimming a couple of months ago. It was realistic that he was unsuccessful in his endeavours.
The love and understanding that Jaggi had for kartika was admirable. It was beautiful when he said that I have travelled 10,000 km to meet you but the 10 steps you take in the presence of your family to meet me would be more difficult. Jaggi and Kartika were both fun characters and portrayed well.
But the movie does show love becoming a sort of obsession and bordering on toxicity. Especially because the movie didn't show the characters having enough emotional depth because they knew each other for a short time, for the lead to take such great measures. Also, they could have united at the end after Kartika professed her love if Jaggi had made better decisions. This is why the movie borders on love becoming toxic.
Overall, the movie has a nice feel to it, and can definitely be enjoyed watching atleast one time.
