the story it self, was amazing. and the actors played in a great way. but it wasn't developed very well, unfortunately.
I didn't really like Rachel's character, at first I found it great, but it started going downhill. in fact, she technically broke the heart of two men which are Jacob and her fiance by literally leaving Jacob the next morning as if nothing happened and by cheating on Matt or whatever his name is as well. it was clear that he wasn't the right person for her, but it would've been better if he was the one who would be the bad guy instead of her, it will make Rachel a better person, and it will ameliorate the movie too. also, we never got to know what she and her fiance talked about during Christmas dinner, it would've been a good add-up to the story if we had it in. I'd also mention, that we weren't told why Jacob didn't speak with his mom who is kinda the main reason why all the events happened, although we were told why he wasn't close with his father,it's a plus. anyways, lastly, I think it's important to say that it was honestly kinda stupid that rachel never spoke with her mom, like what? they traveled the whole world for her (almost), they ended up liking eachother because of this,it was like the whole story revolved around it, for it to never even happen? that's kinda of a very bad point about this movie.
it would've been fun to see for example Jacob releasing a new book that we saw him a couple of time writing, like it kinda has question marks, I wanna know what he was writing about, this is what the audience cares to see. that's just a suggestion tho)
I felt like the ending was very rushed, like the writers ran out of ideas and just added the shortest ideas together to make a rushed ending and to just finish the movie. that was very unfortunate, specially since it started in an amazing way to the point where I thought it could become one of my fav Christmas movies.
Anyways, respect to everyone who put effort in the making of this movie, and to those amazing actors who worked hard on this, I was really expecting something alot better based on the beginning, but it's still good. oh well... 🤍
