On the plus side, it's about time this book series was made into a TV show. I like the locations they use and the cinematography/special effects. I like the way trollocs and fades are portrayed. On the minus side, the casting is terrible. Robert Jordan introduced many different people groups in the series, but they were mainly separate from each other in various cities/regions. The Two Rivers is a small backwater village that should have people that look the same, ethnically speaking. Why they chose to cast a diverse group of people from a small village makes no sense and takes away from the immersion of the story. Also Lan is way too small. He is supposed to tower over Moraine, not be the same size. Also, leaving out the trip to Baerlon where Rand met Min was a big omission since she is a big part of the series. I'm only a few episodes into the series, so maybe she'll make an appearance later. I know that with books so big and detailed that some content has to be left out, but it has been disappointing. I'll still watch because I love the books, but I hope they try to stay truer to Jordan's depiction of people and events.
