Beautiful, thought-provoking movie, about the price to pay for being different and not fitting in. There is a Malena in every city in this world.
Renato was great, but disappointed me at the end, when he did not muster the courage to tell Malena the entire truth. He should have told Malena that she should continue being beautiful, grow her hair back, and stop wearing the plain clothes, and continue being fashionable. For her husband, for herself, for all the beautiful people of this world. That's what he should have said when he was picking up those oranges that fell from her basket. She deserved, and needed to hear it.
