Spoilers: The only reason it got 4 stars is because of some plot holes, and closure for some of the characters. I liked the movie and Channing did an excellent job. The total barbarism of the men is staggering. I can seriously picture some men doing this. (No, not all, I don’t hate men). My heart was racing when she had flash backs, I think because rape is the biggest fear women have, we know we are physically weaker, there for its something we are constantly concerned about when we are out by our self’s.

I very much enjoyed it, yes it was slow paced, but that is what English life was like for someone like Effie. I think the majority of film now is action and immediate gratification, which is fine, but movies like this have a lot to offer, Also it shows a different type of abuse, that's not really talked about.

I finally saw this movie, and wow, I was blown away. Best characters, Charlie and Patrick..When charlie asks Sam if they can be friends again, I totally teared up. The fight scene in lunch room was done perfectly.

The movie was good. I liked it. It really showed a time how women really were treated, and still are to some extent today. I love the actress who played the mother in-law to Tiffany Haddiss's character, she's awesome. This isn't a light hearted movie, it's gritty and tough. I didn't go into the movie with expectations other then I love the 3 main actresses in it, and they did not disappoint.
