I genuinely don't understand the decision to turn this movie into a musical. From the very beginning, the constant singing disrupted the flow of the story, and it felt completely unnecessary. The songs weren’t memorable, and they often felt forced into scenes that would have been much better without them. It was frustrating to watch the movie’s potential get overshadowed by poorly executed musical numbers.
Throughout the screening, I noticed many people in the theater getting up and leaving early. It was clear that the audience wasn’t connecting with the musical format. I felt the same—I couldn’t get immersed in the plot because the singing kept pulling me out of it.
I honestly feel like I wasted both my time and money on this experience. Nobody I know of has been asking Hollywood for more musicals, and every time they try to force it on us, the movies seem to flop. It’s disappointing that they keep taking perfectly good storylines and turning them into musicals that just don't land. This could’ve been a great movie, but the musical element completely ruined it for me.
