You only watch to understand how vulnerable individuals are, when they are upon against the corrupted power that wants them in prison. Yet they fight - they knew that's a kangaroo trap that has a predetermined end, yet despite all struggles and mistreatments and brutality and the court's injustice they've been forced to endure, they did not forget why they came here in the first place - to end the war. There's an old saying in China that perfectly matches the corrupted practices and purpose of this political trial "When the ruler wants you dead, any appeal becomes conviction (欲加之罪何患无辞）". This movie proves it perfectly.
