This may contain spoilers so spoiler warning The ending ruined it for my mother and me. Now let me say my mom and I watched the whole franchise together it’s just our thing, we like the works, we loved troll hunters, 3Below we were split on and wizards was ok. This movie was one we were looking forward to, to start off with this movie brought back every character some of them are used very well and others were just background characters the ones that were in the background so just Eli we’re never fully utilized we got tons of Jim but this movie was a reiteration of a past episode from season two of Trollhunters. this entire movie gym was complaining about not being Trollhunter or if he didn’t know he was anymore all because he couldn’t pick up the sword the thing is though in the past episode that dealt with this Jim realize he didn’t have to pick up a sword he was a troll hunter on the inside the movie did not stick the landing this is why we are giving a two star review and a different ending in our minds the ending of the movie gave us was Jim once again going back in time and rewriting everything. what happens is after Namora Strickler Nari and Toby all die Jim decides to go back in time not to and formulating a plan or anything but to bring them all back from the dead for his own selfish reasons and to go all the way to episode one in the very beginning when he’s waking up which means he gets rid of everybody’s ark we don’t get to see if Steve’s going to being a bully to being a mother and being a good friend Eli we don’t see Strickler and Jim fighting going from students to friends to enemies back to friends again we just see him hooking him up with his mom we don’t get to see Claire’s arc there with her going against the troll hunter and fighting with him and loving him and fighting beside him. to race all these arcs is almost a slap in the face to the fans who stuck with the show from the very beginning he saw the growth in the change in each character. Our ending Everyone who wants died is dead there is no time rewind this isn’t Spider-Man We see Jim saying goodbye to Toby if it’s a black and it fades black and slowly we see the reconstruction of the town of the high school is named after Strickler a museum is named after Namora a park is named after Nori and Toby get a comic called The wingman and the troll And it has all the adventures that that Jim had but Toby is the lead like from his perspective we see Steve with the kids because he’s gonna be a stay at home dad he just is can we see a little clip of Eli in the background on the news saying how he is communicator between the aliens and humans and we see Jim and Claire just so human just grabbing a coffee walking hand-in-hand to the newly rebuilt park that’s named after Nara and meeting Douxxie and Archie there. it shows that life goes on and their deaths aren’t in vain, the city is rebuilding nobody’s character arcs gets erased.
