I watched it in cinema and despite knowing about the "musical" tag I didn't expect it to be used that much since it's a movie based on the joker.
The only reason I gave two stars is that the performance of Phoenix as Arthur/ Joker kind of kept it together.
Now I'll say that I'm not a fan of musicals, so keep that in mind but one of the biggest issues I've had was that of the 132 minutes at least 60-70% felt as singing leaving little room for the remaining 30-40% of story telling to shine.
There were multiple scenes were I missed information on how that scene could occur and where removing a few music parts with actual backstory would have been nice. I will not go into the ending here, but let's say I was disappointed how abrupt it was.
My opinion regarding the movie in general: it's a good movie to watch once, but if they wanted the movie to shine it should have been 100% musical or a normal movie without the musical parts in it and not be a hybrid.
