I don’t think unfinished games should be released at the same price point as finished ones, and this game was at times actually unplayable. Balder’s Gate 3 was so buggy months after release that I could not play through any of act 3, and the entire game remains buggy. I loved the dnd mechanics, and a number of other details that made it worth playing at least once, but it is clear throughout the game that it was handed over to an entirely different team halfway through production. So much relies on the player doing things perfectly, which is near impossible given how many bugs there are. There are so many glaring issues that if fixed would make the game bearable. My boyfriend and I put hundreds of hours into this game and we continually thought that Divinity: Original Sin was a better game. The newest Dragon Age too, far better executes so many of the things I see this game praised for. Ignoring the graphics, this really did feel like something that should have gotten almost all terrible ratings and been no more than 30$ because of it. I really hope they fix things, but it seems like all of the updates have been focusing on visual issues rather than things like the pathfinder or the split screen problems.
