I randomly bumped into this one. Got to say the first things first, I loved the cinematography, most of the scenes are shot in Wayanad and lord, it is stunning. Every scene shot in that lush green location made me want to pause and admire its natural beauty.
Coming to the story, when I read the synopsis, it didn't hit me as a unique, one-of-a-kind story, after all, I personally had no expectations. So I was prepared to be disappointed. But when the story slowly progresses, Anna Marie made me gush over her sweet innocent quirks, I knew she was a good actor after watching her on Kumbalangi nights, but I had no idea, she was this good! Not just her, Roshan Matthew's nice guy act, and Srinath Bhasi's rough but fair character both made a lasting impact on me.
The story itself takes its sweet time, but it does move on, subtly rendering cues to its audience without ever giving up its main plot and that's exactly where these actors come in, their brilliant performance misleads you in every scene from guessing the ending (almost).
I do have to say obviously the movie isn't perfect, I feel they could have done a better job of making the story progress a little faster than its original snail-like speed, but yes, as soon as you know you are near to the supposed climax, the wait seems worth it.
