Movie in New York (Gotham) during the Sanitation strike in the 70's, realistic look of how dirty and dark the City is... then to see Joaquin Phoenix play the Joker who is a mental state of frenzy losing his mind slowly.
Joaquin is a tour de force, from his laugh to his facial expressions.
It's more real life mental problems then Comic book. I left not really knowing if I liked the Movie or not, it's dark and disturbing.
