Super meta as a Deadpool movie should be; really fun time. Wouldn't recommend bringing your kids to this film though.

Should've done more research before going into this movie. Major red flag, arguably the biggest red flag, especially if you're going into this movie expecting a continuation of the Matt Reeves trilogy, is that Matt Reeves and the original team are not working on this film or probably the trilogy. This might as well be a completely new go at the Apes series. Even given the grace that this is a new rendition of the the series, it just isn't nearly as strong as the any of the Matt Reeves trilogy of films.

Predictably, this film is getting hate because it's a "woke feminist" film, and while I see where they are coming from, Fair Play is far from the usual cringe that would be associated with the "genre" of film. It's smart, realistic, raw, violent, and sexy. And as a guy watching this I really had to sith with myself and be like "yeah, this is how I assume most men would behave in this scenario, and maybe even myself included." The film also shows how manipulative and vindictive both sexes can be, so kudos to the writer for not just going in on men. Very intriguing.

Not quite sure what I was expecting from this movie. It's pretty boring, but not in a bad way. It's a good deep dive into who Oppenheimer was/is and it's also a good movie about the Red Scare, but not a great movie about how devastating the Atomic Bomb was that I feel like Nolan could've easily portrayed. This movie is really more of a court drama than anything.

As a huge fan of X, Pearl was a disappointing to say the least. The acting, especially from Mia Goth was excellent and the themes in this movie along with the overall development of Pearl was great, but at the end you just go "this didn't need to be made." The movie was just boring and it certainly isn't horror. This movie is just barely a thriller. The rated R scenes just feel...bland. Which is sad because of how creative and fresh X felt. Maybe it'll all come together whenever MaXXXine releases, but yeah, not great.

Just a really boring film. It's extremely unfortunate too because of how interesting the concept of the movie is and the ways they could've fully explored its most interesting parts. After the first maybe 45-60 minutes you've seen everything this film has to offer.

The bad/mediocre: - Movie is too long for it's own good - The first 30-45 minutes of this film is incredibly annoying. The art-style changing every five seconds is super nauseating and annoying. I don't remember if the first Spider-Verse film had this issue, but I don't remember feeling this way watching that film. The writing is also very mentally taxing. The quips do not take a break in this film. Some jokes land, most don't. And I get that when you get a bunch of Spider-People together it's going to be quip city, but...I personally just didn't like it. - The last several minutes of this movie happen really fast, but overall are really good. - If you're tired of the multiverse trend, this won't help. It's not as well used as No Way Home. - The soundtrack is weak compared to Spider-Verse 1. The good: - After the 45-50ish minute mark, the movie starts to really get good. The theming, character motivations and world building is super solid.
