I enjoyed the movie. I never saw the original or other evil dead movies. I felt it was a pretty alright movie. The intro for the lake felt like it was throw away content that didn't make much sense or really add anything to it. The family felt alright. The gore and the kills felt pretty gruesome. I did notice there's a call out to the shining as an Easter egg. If you know the scene I'm hinting at. And then the end also felt throw away too just to loop back to how the random characters that we know nothing about got to the lake in the first place. All and all it felt hallow and lacking any real substance but it wasn't down right horrible or boring just felt like it could have been worked through a bit better. I would probably watch it again.
