It’s over rated. The acting is subpar and the story is only marginally interesting. Its entire appeal is rooted in nostalgia for the 80’s. If the same story was set in present time, we’d all be screaming “Seen it!”. Everything from the writing to the acting is dismally leading up to what? Really? What? This other shadowy/mirror world called the “Upside Down”. It ultimately tries too hard from the music, to the acting. Overrated. CoVid provided traction for this disaster.

For those of us old enough to remember the original, this is an insult in both writing, direction and acting. It lacked nuance and feeling. A rushed, heartless, mockery.
