Halle Butler writes beautifully crafted, unsettling, and hilarious novels about thirty-something women in dead end jobs and failing relationships. I enjoyed Banal Nightmare, cringing at Moddie’s self-sabotaging actions, and laughing aloud at Butler’s commentary. If you haven’t read Jillian or The New Me, Butler’s previous novels, treat yourself. Here is a new voice you won’t want to miss.
