For any true Roald Dahl Wonka fan, this movie is absolute garbage. Willy Wonka was not some magician or the Jesus of Chocolate, he was a genius inventor and artist who chose chocolate as his medium. He did not use 'Hand of God' magic to accomplish his goals, in fact, he worked hard to accomplished his goals. He was not a 'trickster', he was a deal-maker. This movie is just a very sad money grab that is insulting to anyone with an ounce of intelligence. It used and abused the Wonka legacy and should never be shown again. If they wanted to do some whimsical, fantasy BS movie about a chocolate magician, they should have had enough respect to not drag a beloved figure like Willy Wonka into it. I can see it be entertaining to those who don't care if a movie lacks even an ounce of realism, but no movie is every going to be good without it. The magic should be in the story and not the other way around. The contrivance and happenstance that are used throughout, not to mention plotholes galore, and do we really need a song every 10 minutes? This is a bad movie, with nothing redeeming about it.
