It starts well. Concise writing. Then after halfway I think someone else wrote it. It became verbose with so much filler. I had to skim just to reach the unsatisfactory end. And what's with the verb "eased" ? Suddenly it's on every page and is quite superfluous. I'm thinking AI. Shan't read another book by this writer who doesn't follow his own rules for a good novel.
