Blade Runner is my favourite film. Beautifully shot, stunningly acted and with a music score that is mesmeric. My understanding is that Vangelis performed his score live and improvised while watching the footage for the first time.
I'm a huge fan of Ridley Scott's work but, for me, this is his best. He presents dystopia in a way that reminds us what it is to be human. Replicants and their treatment, the fear that they inspire, are an obvious metaphor which we can still relate to in terms of the common discord in our societies today.
In my opinion we could all learn a lot from the message of this film. As more time passes the more relevant it gets.
