I have watched this film about 6 times. I find that Hickok's(Bronson)repetitive dreams about the White Buffalo and his need to kill the buffalo is a typical White Man solution to everything he doesn't understand or cares about in the Old West. 40 to 60 million Bison were killed for FUN(?) off moving trains to near extinction which destroyed and starved the
American Indians also and with help from the United States. The White Buffalo was said to be sacred to some of the American Indian tribes. Crazy Horse's(Sampson) revenge would probably go against the religion. What was the Buffalo's reason for killing the Indians and others. Maybe I missed something. That's why I have watched this movie so often.
Fictional as this movie is, all this movie does is teach ...When you have a problem and don't understand why KILL IT. Wild West thinking and even today.
If an explanation is out there please post it. I would gladly read it.
