Let’s start with the grade. It’s a 6 out of 10.
Warning, this contains some spoilers.
What I liked were the opening and ending arcs of loss and the final battle. I liked the reexplanation of time travel using the strands of time with the ancient one but the verbal explanations threw me for a loss. In essence, they explained the multiverse in my opinion or rather, how it would be born. I liked the girl team up and the soul stone sacrifice. I liked Scarlett witch.
What I did not like was how tony reacted to first meeting Cap. I did not like how little captain marvel did in the movie even though it’s is explained why. I don’t like how poorly marvel power scales it’s heros. For example, captain marvel can take a punch from thanos like it’s absolutely nothing but then gets chucked like a rag doll by the same thanos. I don’t like fat Thor or smart hulk. Fat Thor makes sense but why spend all of ragnarok learning to harness your powers only to spend all of infinity wars and some of endgame getting his hammers? Hulk was nothing more than a punchline. When was the last time he’s been relevant as a fighter? Ragnarok. How are battle tested versions of the heros weaker than newbie heros of the past?
It was a fitting end of an era and at 3 hours, it was a haul. But for what we were expecting and what we got, it felt a bit underwhelming if you looked at the movie and not the glitz.
