It was ok. They just had way too much to crunch into one movie. The history, who they were, their history on earth, who they are on earth, their powers, what they believe, the deviants, the celestials and much more. If they would have done it a bit at a time and slowly introduced them I think it would have been much better

I quite enjoyed it! I didn't know what to expect going into this as the Samurai X OVAs have been my favorites for years and years. The art, the story, the music, the animation are just all absolutely gorgeous. The live action wasn't quite as good but it was still pretty decent! They touched on the most important parts of the original and added some new things as well. I was pleasantly surprised. And the actor for Shinta/Himura/Kenshin was amazing. The way he fought was breath taking and so true to the original! I do feel Tomoe could have been just a tad bit better but I still loved her too!
