I sat and couldn't get into this movie. It went slowly and it was downright boring. I don't pay much attention to the royal family at all so this movie might be for some people but it wasn't for me.
The reason why I haven't based it at 1 star is because I look past the basic premise of the movie. Although a prologue of some sort would've been helpful, I grasped onto the story as best as I could and by the end, I got it.
This movie was made to be a cinematic piece of art dedicated to another decade. The cinematography was beautiful, the mis-en-scene on point, the acting almost sensational and the tone of the film was perfect. Nonfictional pieces mostly always get these things right.
However, I think it could've had some other elements to it. As I mentioned possibly a prologue or some kind of reassurance as to where we started the movie. For all we could've known, Diana and Charles could've still been together. However, it gradually picked up and the movie was becoming a slight bit generally interesting, giving us a small glimpse into the mindset that Diana was in everytime she was around the royal family.
Otherwise, for the average person, it's boring.
