The gameplay is satisfying, battles are quick, and it feels like you are on the ropes with how much damage Pokemon do to your team. So after shaking up the tired formula, the gameplay is a chef's kiss to fans. Unfortunately this is by far the worst looking game to have the Nintendo seal of approval on it, no matter how you look at it this game needed another year of polish on the world, fixed the draw distance, textures, and whatever excuse for water were looking at in this title. Graphics aren't a problem until it's in your face, constantly reminding you how unfinished it looks compared to other first party Nintendo games of this generation. At the end of the day, bravo for the gameplay, character designs are always top notch, but it's a shame that gameplay this good lives in a world that needed more development time. This series can do better, hopefully we'll see that next time.
