I just finished reading the first book and here are my thoughts:
"The Summer I Turned Pretty" book one is a lighthearted yet touching read that captures the transition of growing up. Jenny Han introduces us to relatable characters and knits interesting dynamics between them, making the story engaging from start to finish.
What truly resonated with me was how the theme of change is depicted throughout the book. It beautifully mirrors the transition from childhood to the teenage years, highlighting how much change can impact relationships, family, friends, and even our own feelings. The story also makes us feel the powerful emotions that come with this change—excitement, anger, fear, and love.
Han's book shows that change can be bittersweet, but ultimately, it's portrayed as something that can lead to growth and goodness in the end.
A must summer read, and can't wait to read the other books!
