Movie was meh. I do not care the actress was darker skinned. I do think it would be easy to give her the red hair though. Regardless it was boring. My 5 year old who was stoked to go asked to go home half hour into it as well as her friend. The Eric song was cringey, the bird and crab rapping was very cringey, they didn’t even give Ariel a pretty princess dress (the pink one, the sparkly one or the wedding dress one) they really missed out on marketing there (selling little replica dresses for the kids and costumes for Ariel at Disneyland). Just an ugly peasant dress. The under the sea song was drab. The bird having a convo under water was weird. The only saving grace was the crab was mainly funny and Ursula was spot on. Not worth the hype. Also Halle unnecessarily pushed her voice in several spots. Thought she was gonna have an orgasm on the rock (after she saved Eric). It was just not care free and graceful. Worst Disney remake as of yet. I went there excited to see it. Blah.
