Wonderful show! Just found this season and binged to catch up. LOVE the beautiful scenery.. and loving the cowboys, ranching, horses,..and the western culture. Kevin Costner has brought us back to the West- just as good as Dances with Wolves. I REALLY dig the opening music and reel. Looks a bit like Bonanza map as the industry and modernization "burns" its way across the frontier and melts with the Spanish/Midwestern history. Very cool! As much as I like John Dutton,.. it is clear his #1 love is the ranch - even over his children - especially as he sees the "suffering" of Beth mentally, but he exploits that to his benefit to preserve his ranch. Beth's character was really raw and trashy - and has now developed into a loving relationship with Rip because they share the same lost beginnings. Think they realized they needed to tone that down a bit, and make her more methodical and ruthless business mind. Really don't understand why they adopted Jamie - doesn't seem he was loved.... what is that about? (broken storyline there). Two of the most unbelievable things: that Jimmy the scarecrow would have a girlfriend...what??? and the branding thing. Why would anyone feel compelled to do that. That part is really not believable. And hey - we all know that Rip would have killed singing cowboy when he found him and would've never settled for bringing him back to the ranch after his fling with Beth. Come on!!!.... All the characters seem a good fit, and I enjoy the partnering up with their enemies Native American to fight off the hostile takeover of those city slickers. One last thing.... It is REALLY IRRITATING to continue to hear the FAR OVERUSE of the "f" word every other breath. Step up.... it's just NOT necessary. Depend on the storylines and the characters. Just don't need that. Great cliffhanger... Definitely still watching!! Signed - Jack's wife. :-)
