This book is beautifully written, poetry rings in every line of prose. The plot is brilliant and the characters believable and (mostly) likeable. The interest in Cally's (the main character) life outside her paintings through Talia and Talia's family is funny and philosophical.
The world that Anna Cookson has created is so much more than just ink on paper - the lives of the characters ad the wider world and narrative spanning around them through the malicious Government is awe-inspiring. The novel realises some of our worst fears surrounding climate change, community, conformity and identity.
I highly recommend this book!
