The movie hits a reasonable minimum standard simply because it includes the names De Niro and Pacino in the credits. However, the movie is too long and moves at the pace of a Melbourne tram. Pesci looks quite sickly in the movie and way past his best. The movie relies on past Scorsese accolades to attract its present audience. I think the old adage “don’t overstay you’re welcome” certainly applies here. If you’re a Scorsese addict then you will probably suck the last drop of ‘The Godfather’ juice from this dry biscuit of a movie.
