This was an incredible take on the Batman. The movie is very dark, raw, gritty and deep. Pattinsons performance on Batman is great. His entrance and fear effect is that of Darth Vader's entrance and fear in the original Star Wars trilogy. His eyes are piercing and he controls the room. The fight scenes are more realistic, not flashy with multiple camera shots. Bruce Wayne in this movie is more human, vulnerable and someone who is scarred and carries the weight of his past and turns it into anger and fear on criminals. He's not your flashy, outgoing, clean cut, billionaire playboy having a girl around each arm and that's where I like how they delivered a different approach to the character. It's one of those movies that the more I think about it after seeing it, I appreciate the character of Batman and Bruce Wayne more and more. The acknowledge the other characters... Penguin is wonderful, very engaging and he keeps your attention. The riddler with Dano is very sick and twisted... A true villain. My suggestion that if you watch this is to put Pattinsons Twilight movies in the back, and don't compare this to the dark knight series with Nolan, Bale and Ledger. I believe Pattinsons Batman and Bruce Wayne character will only improve and become more and more polished as the plot grows and ages with the Batman as he is learning what he needs to become for Gotham. Coming from a huge Bale and Dark Knight series fan... I believe this is overall better and just downright more deep and dark to stay true to the DC comics.
