I personally think people who 'hate' this show misunderstood the characters. What Lucy is going through is much deeper than you might think. I can't really explain it becouse i'm nit really good at that, but you can find some interesting explanations on YouTube. It is definitely worth to watch if you like gore and stuff like that.
