So far short of the first I don’t even know where to begin. Characters and plot were all over the place. I’m baffled anyone sat through this and gave it 5 stars afterwards

Maybe after the previous Batman films I went in expecting too much from this, but I feel like this film fell quite short of expectations. While I can’t fault Patterson’s performance and many of the scenes, taken out of context were impressive in themselves…the movie as a whole was a bit…predictable, generic, simple. The character development outside of Batman and maybe Catwoman, was slow. Alfred has about 5 lines and his relationship with Bruce seems detached. Gordon didn’t generate much sense of excitement or do much for the story either, he was just there when the scenes needed him. This is still a decent watch if it was the first ever Batman movie - and there wasn’t already better ones out there, but I’d be surprised if it’s one that’s remembered.
