I love Stephen King and as off the beaten path as this book is for him to me it is the finest thing I have ever read by him! I love the whole story within a story thing that he does with the main character discovering that he is a writer and that it is a great way for him to examine his past and Purge some of the demons in his life. But most importantly to me it is the unlikely love that develops between Billy and Alice! Something deeper than a romantic attraction although that is a component of it, two broken people that find each other and in a sense on a higher level save each other. One of the most interesting parts of the book for me was how one person cares for another both mentally spiritually and physically as that person is dying even though the other person rages against that in their mind and in their desire for them to live on. Being of a certain age myself it was a very poignant thing and so amazingly done by the author. I love this book and I know I will reread it many times I highly recommend it to anyone to me it is a Masterwork in my mind probably the best thing Stephen King has ever done!
