Anodyne and perfunctory. Very, very disappointed. Dilutes rather than enriches the character so sublimely drawn by Hopkins. I say this having not yet experienced the Mikkelsen take, but am secure in the firm expectation that it must be a significant improvement on this.

It's a Rob Zombie movie. Another Rob Zombie. It just does what a Rob Zombie movie does. Again. Meh.

Sows Alan Moore's stolen seeds into far too small a pot, and no matter how worthy its intentions and how much the anti-bigotry message is to be fervently applauded, the co-option of the source gives us too little Watchmen and too much message. Laurie is funny as all get-out though
