Few games out there can compete to this. This WW2 grand strategy game allows you to play as any country on earth and relive ww2 or change the course of history. Highly replayable, expensive dlcs though, great mods made by the community, questionable ai at times, Senor Hitler and king Wojtek. Well worth the 1,256+ hours I spent on it instead of getting a life. *I still don't know how to navy😭*

Simple to learn for those familiar with Paradox games. Lets you conquer space as a lizard, exterminate organic life as robots, blow up planets, subjugate aliens, watch your economy and empire shatter, space pirates, ai gone rogue, sentient mushrooms, genocidal geckos, galactic wars, etc. Or you could just make friends as the Blorg Commonality :) Ground combat does need a rework though.
