I find the programmes pleasing to watch particularly showing what can be done with plants, flowers, vegetables and fruits in different environment and in different parts of the country we live in.
But they are all much of a muchness. They are all well kept, colourfully interesting and entertaining and with the accent in demonstrating the widest variety of wildlife.
But are they representative of ordinary gardens and gardeners.
Are their other types of gardens and gardeners - say who just want a tidy space around their property with plants, bushes, lawns and trees and who have other aspects of their busy lives to consider.
Why not devote some programme time to them, with coping strategies to maintain their spaces effectively with minimum effort and maximum gain using plants, bushes and trees that will look after themselves.
My garden is full of heathers, non flowering bushes and slow growing conifers which require little effort and time but give a wide variety of colours and shapes throughout the year and is very different to those we see on the programmes.
Just a different opinion!
