I really, really liked "Cats." Forget trying to figure out the plot - it has themes, more than plot. Hard to compare it to any entertainment genre, even musical theatre, ballet or opera - and with that in mind, I suppose evaluating it critically in a typical three-act film context invites a fail. It's just a fun, bizarre trip. Ultimately I don't get the abysmal reviews unless folks went in expecting a rom-com. Interestingly, and this may mean nothing, but I've been trying to post a positive review for days, and it is each time I've been unable to post.
