4.5 stars Incredible commentary on patriarchal societies and the horrors women face at the hands of the system and how said system can turn us against each other. This book was easy to read, full of little twists (the first few I saw coming tbh, but some of the last ones really caught me by surprise), and had me rooting for the character as if she were my own sister. It has everything important: struggle, hope, perseverance, loss and grief, love in many forms, and even more hope. I wish I could read it again with new eyes. I highly recommend it, especially for young women.
