Dev Patel & the entire cast illuminate this heartbreaking story of hope, redemption, mother-son love, and courage to a grateful audience. This captures the warmth and underdog feels of iconic films like “Rocky” & “The Champ” while creating a uniquely intimate and unflinching look at how injustice & corruption must be combated by any means necessary. While it is extremely violent- it has the same gift to satisfy the audience’s desire for the bad guys to get the outcomes they deserve.

Time travel, Gen Z’ers with STEM skills, contemporary struggles with race & police brutality, family & friendship all intersect in this gem of a story. Explores the possibility of “What if…” & even has a cameo from Michael J Fox. The ending could have been more creative but overall is a great film & family/teen appropriate.
