One of the best films of the last decade. Nolan can be a hit and miss director, but he definitely hit it with Interstellar. Standout scene, when Cooper sees his children grow 23 years in 5 minutes. That would break any parent and Mathew Mconaughy’s performance in that scene was exceptional. Lowlight of the movie, Anne Hathaway. I thought she was miscast in this movie, her performance was mostly cold, distant and arrogant. She does display some warmth in her character towards the end of the movie but it was too little too late.
The ending of the movie did deserve more elaboration. It was a very hasty end to what was a very well developed script. I thought that time and Einstein’s Relativity was explained well even though the premise of time dilation and travel in this film still has its usual time travel paradox’s.
If cooper sent himself to the black hole to send himself a message?? You know what I mean.
Anyway, this is a movie you will definitely want to watch again. I saw it the first time in an IMAX theatre and was suitably blown away by the larger then life visuals, the awesome soundtrack from Hans Zimmer. His score was one of the highlights of the movie, especially the scene when cooper and crew are on the ‘wave’ planet and the clock ticking in the background driving home how ‘time’ is a precious resource.
Example of a Nolan miss, Tenet!
