Having taught in an inner city school for 19 of my 33 years in the classroom, I could truly relate to this film. The music is great. The predicaments are true. I did not like the way the teacher was portrayed. Stern but dedicated to his students, they did not have to show him smoking a joint. This gives the teaching profession a bad name. The girls are loose and the guys just ready for one troubled affair after another. The film correctly depicts what discipline is like in the inner city schools. The ending will tug at your heart.
