Peter Pandering... as said by several others... this is yet another live-action remake with no Disney magic. The tone wasn't the only thing dark about this version. Seriously, does every Disney+ exclusive movie or show have to be done in near complete darkness? Are their special effects really that low-budget, that they need to be shrouded in darkness? It'd also be nice if everyone didn't mumble or whisper their lines. I seriously had to max my tv's volume to hear them.
The movie starts out OK, even though Peter isn't as care-free or lively as he should be (he never really is). Neverland is reduced to an island with a castle in ruins. The only magical creatures, are the glowing octopus/mermaids swimming, that they begin your entrance into Neverland with... that's it. They are called "The Lost Boys". They even call them that in this version, even though half or more are girls now.
Hook was supposed to be the villain... NOT EMO Peter Pan. The movie feels rushed. Tik Tok Croc was cool, but didn't show up near the end to pursue Hook. Like the Pinocchio remake, the ending was ruined.
The original versions have the Disney Magic. Even the few decent live-action remakes still don't quite have it.
