Cheesy and pedestrian. The writing relies on tired old tropes and the author regularly includes cringe-inducing bits like describing a futon as having been "condemned" to the floor, as if the author is making some profound comment on the relationship between the futon and its owner.. Where else is a futon supposed to go? On the wall? Did not like!
