It's been a while since I've watched this movie, but I still remember the important stuff. Enjoyment wise, it's going to depend on whether you take it seriously or not. You'll enjoy it for the visuals and beautiful shots, but if you're to take this seriously for a compelling story, you won't find any meat there.
Out of 5: 2.5/5
Out of 10: 3/10
I have to say this, Mortal Engines had so much potential. The film for me felt like it was the Lord of the Rings but they had to cram everything into one film. They kept on adding things that made no sense. How did that lady find them in the auction in the first place? If she was searching for the MC then wouldn't she had found her by now if she can magically appear out of nowhere and find her in some random auction?
They tried to tell a story, they really did but the plot was so dumb and was so fast-paced that I didn't bother to care. I would've loved to see Predator City vs Predator City like London vs Washington or London vs Berlin. It would've been interesting to see how that will brawl out.
Or how about that the world is constantly shifting and the climate is unstable that warrants the use of flying or moving cities? Then maybe the walled city would have some importance than fuel. Maybe that's the only place on Earth where it's not shifting or moving constantly and those who tried entering it by force or turned and destroyed by the walled city. This gives the city more importance. But, the movie has been done and we cannot change it anymore. All I can say is you'll enjoy it for the movie visuals and spectacles but not the plot or characters.
