On what basis is this film worthy of an Oscar? Neither the story nor ideology behind the movie is new or novel. Apart from the visuals there is nothing this movie can take credit for. There are a lot of loop holes and illogical moments in it like:
<<<<<<Spoiler Alert>>>>>
1. Why would any family hire different staff through the same chain of recommendations? Isn't that strange?
2. Why wouldn't Park's wife not go into the internet and check about the symptoms of schizophrenia in this 21st century when the Drawing teacher talks about schizophrenic possibility in Park's kid.
3. Why doesn't the previous maid send a copy of Kim's Family video to one of her friends' just to make sure somebody else has a copy. Isn't it just common sense? It is hard to believe that someone who has the brains to hide her husband in the basement lacked the sense to make a copy of the video.
4. The Kim family had to move out of their house due to flooding. It is hard to believe that they were given pillows in the Gym for sleeping during that unprecedented flooding.
5. Lastly, Kim and family moved out of their flooded house with minimal essentials. How did Kim's daughter get a pretty dress and how did she dress up prim and prop for the im-promtive birthday celebration?
