EXCELLENT. It is a reflection on the emotional effect that the war had on people's lives after it had finished. Meryl Streep, one realises, is a sociopath, but the question is whether she would have been that way if it hadn't been for the war. It is also about how those who, like her and Sam Neil, survived were lead to believe in a promise of a wonderful future, but felt let down. For someone with a sociopathic nature, they actually function better in stressful situations than peaceful ones. She is a malcontent for this reason, because she is always looking to move on. It is well acted, intelligent dialogue and some excellent sets and scenes.
