I wanted to really like this movie... and I think if you've never seen The Babadook, then this movie is great! But I have seen The Babadook, and Come Play is such a massive copy of it - including the *exact* noises Mister makes - that there was nothing that surprised, scared, or affected me while watching. It's worth watching for Azhy Robertson's performance alone (5 star worthy even with practically zero dialogue). Ignoring the copying of 'dook, there is ZERO connection between the parents and Oliver, to the point that I was wondering if maybe he was adopted to explain such a disconnect. And the comments made by his mother about his Autism... he's old enough that none of his actions should be new to her. Horrible acting on both their parts. Give it a whirl at a $20 rental fee risk.
