My personal experience so far: I played around 1h the other day and gave up on the game because I hated it LOL. At first, I was hopeful since I'd had to download a patch before launching the whole thing, but I was rapidly disappointed... Keep in mind, I played at Sword for two months straight before trying Scarlet so the shock was brutal.
• I had glitches just by going down the stairs from the room to the kitchen, and two minutes later I was literally in the head of the starter pokémons and went through one of the NPC. That alone, for me, disrespects the number one rule of the franchise: You can't go through pokémons or NPC.
• Visuals look incredibly cheap despite the try of texture, plus the lags are unacceptable for a SWITCH game in this day and age. I mean... The colours are so blasted that some characters are whiter than a sheet of paper, it lacks dimension or lines so it makes it hard to play for more than 20-30 minutes at a time. shadows even glitched when I was walking in nature (close to the road)
• Camera issue. Okay, maybe that's just ME, but having to constantly manipulate two cameras at the same time is a pain in the butt. Not to mention the weird awful angles it gives during battles with characters or Pokeballs floating in the air. It would have been nicer to have some fixed angles at times (like in Pokecenter, in battles, on top of a restricted area like a tower), and the option to have a wider angle in the wild.
• Talking of the camera, this one will be controversial... But an open world wasn't needed. It's a Pokemon game, for kids around 10 years old, made to be played in an order... Maybe a progressive open world that opens while you level up or some wild area like Sword/Shield would have been better and would have avoided the bugs and the cheap look of the game. There are always amazing side stories or post-game stories in their game usually, no need for an "open everything and give a false feeling of choice"
My friends told me that this game has a great storyline and good music, but sadly... I can't pay attention to it due to those issues.
